cognitive dissonance always has a breaking point. time topples it in the same way it topples empires. every past genocide was popular until its supporting empire died
you can always trump a fear of ostracisation with a fear of death. the death just has to hit close enuff

that’s the number one method pre_hooktail applied as well as several sms mods and is extremely effective in that it preys on how bad humans are at retaining and reasoning about chronology, as well as their weakness to equivalences between words and material abuse
