one of the saddest parts of suicide is when the reason goes unexplained. altho i don't think the ppl in one's life are owed anything – neither should u! – i do feel that one of the greatest duties of those long suffering from societally-normalised abuse is to write it down [1/5]

a little writing goes a long way – see for example this case https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leelah_Alcorn, which is now immortalised on wikipedia and the internet archive despite the best efforts of the parents, who realistically are the ones who killed her, to take it down

the notes are needed to join the dots b/w the abuse, suffering + outcome. the more ppl understand, the more we help the children following in the victims' footsteps to avoid the same fate
death being required to take abuse srsly is a cringe but inevitable part of how humans work

when having these connections spelt out while the person's still alive, ppl tend to react w/ defensive accusations of manipulation. i realised after some time that they're just abusive people
u can't rail about the trans suicide epidemic to oppose transphobia, and then say this

it's actually a real and very well-documented fact that abuse kills people, and that abusers get minimal consequences
and the primary concerns of both victims and activists should be documentation and archiving, making sure the causality can be read for generations to come [5/5]
