idk if there’s anything i can learn from this video since it’s mostly talking about (the “psychological rape” of character assassination of) those who have bad opinions or liaisons or w/e, rather than of abusers

1upsforlife first sent it to me 3y ago to criticise the several ppl in sdll who were (literally) threatening people who followed sniperking on twitter. she added the comment “i still think abuse should be called out”. i wonder if she still (still) thinks that

the action of writing the lumardy case has left me in such a mental knot that i can remember the places i was standing when i got to thinking of it over the years
i think it’s impossible to argue that that kind of weaponised lying and manipulation to cut up someone’s friendships

isn’t abuse of the sort 1ups was talking about. it’s also hard to argue that taking the honesty/evidence centric approach (really long doc lol) isn’t vastly preferable to the jpep secret info intimidation game…
i mean u can argue the 2 years jpep got away w/ it means it worked

from my pov that’s probably true but from his probably not since he will have to deal with himself being thrown out of his online communities for a comparable amount of time. and it’s irrelevant to me cos i’m not capable of that kinda dishonesty. idk how to win at that game

i knew going into writing the lumardy case that the purpose was to use the truth to defend myself from him, plus 1ups put the onus on me to prove that she should believe me. which turned out to be a ruse covering an emotional decision she’d taken long ago to side with power

i think that the case became later about cancelling him was caused partly by her disloyalty and partly by the bullying i was being subjected to by especially @lego6245 (in hindsight the tipping point where i was no longer able to ignore the bingo bullies cos this one had power)

it was rubbed in my face how nobody cared about what i’d gone thru and then when lumardy started coming for me, it got worse and worse and then the conspiracy of me abusing 1ups happened 2d later
i didn’t intend to care about what others thought of luma but thats why it happened

contrapoints mentions in the video the risk that’s taken whenever someone engages in this kind of cancelling action and yeah having to deal with an abuser is the kind of thing everyone dreads for that reason. i had thought just having the facts was enough but didn’t

anticipate just how mentally ill 1ups was or the army of bullies and centrists i’d later have to deal with. obviously being ostracised from a friend group is smth i was expected to just survive and be silent about, but my childhood had made me too intolerant bc it was so empty of

human connection cos of the bullying i had *not* stood up to then. i think killing oneself is realistically the cleanest solution to this kind of problem but it’s hard for several obvious reasons, and ofc everyone around you is in constant denial of this

it’s grim just how much of a sludge trap social abuse is. it’s hard looking back at a situation where you realise there was no right answer, nothing you could learn, and you just had to be a different person, different upbringing, different life
