1 key thing i realised about the pattern of social abuse denialism among the sms mods and the argument that online abuse isn't serious (the latter was thankfully roundly rejected) is that there's a contradiction in how online relationships/community are seen wrt mental hlth [1/7]

it's seen in 2022 1upsforlife that online friends are almost all she valued in her life, and this outlook is substantiated somewhat by the outpouring of love at early PACE events that was kinda jarring to those observing who were better-adjusted irl. clearly people live for these

recognising this, you can't then say that intentionally manipulated efforts to cancel some1 off an invalid case are not that deep / not social abuse cos of technicalities, cos you're then saying the abuser is allowed to attend a convention when he is the reason the victim can't?

one of the moderators clearly gets it (despite being a fencesitting centrist about actually doing anything about it)

r.e. social abuser at convention: this is jpep. the "invalid case" is over a mean letter i sent someone that that person didn't report and doesn't consider abuse. the cancellation succeeded bc the moderators hid all the evidence and engaged victim-protection rhetoric
