it's interesting seeing so many people crawl out from her grip and say they felt pushed out of the multimario speedrunning community. it's framed as if she masterminded pure evil vs these innocent people and the only person whose fault it is is hers

who is it who takes negative rumours at face value?
who doesn't reserve judgement and instead is scared to risk being around the targeted person?
who is it who doesn't react to cases of overt unjustified ostracisation?

why is it normal for private groups to dominate someone's friendships yet exclude em?
"it's the group owner's right" are u sure? right to not care about someone else's welfare?

the answer to these questions is basically everyone :)

it seems very easy to say someone's evil to absolve yourself of guilt and responsibility for the collective protection from bullying/social abuse that you owe your peers. but don't you feel you reap what you sow?

the multimario community is pestulent to single-mario players cos of the bullying dramas that keep spilling out. i remember playing an event in the events discord and within weeks, i saw somebody get lynched by 3 ppl at once, show clear distress, and then pure smoke + mirrors

from the bullies to disguise intentions. 1 of those bullies now complains about being pushed out by aria 🤦 like

in the sms community we had this exact period of "coming together" and denial of responsibility, and shortly afterwards a new bullying dynamic. another culture war

i don't think anything, for believing malicious rumours, can top the sms mods cancelling someone over an empty case and it succeeding – for the exact reasons i've listed

all this stops when you collectively decide to be serious and treat social abuse as abuse

i shouldn't be reading "i was unable to report being defrauded" or "i was banned from an official server for no reason and laughed at when i complained". or fucking "i removed you from a dominant group purely cos someone else doesn't like you"
