the biggest themes i hear are (1) fear of enemy repeating its old ways and (2) idealistic belief in supremacy of democracy. both are true, but like

1. a military alliance covering 1/8 of the world? like pre-WWI???
2. russian evil now vs usa evil now, in europe vs everywhere else

maybe the 2 deeper things that underpin this worldview are (1) selfishness, or an innate preference for the safety of europeans vs others (smth i'm happy to just call supremacist racism tbh) and (2) a profound misunderstanding of what's going on in palestine vs how it's reported

it's not the actions themselves but the gaslighting that covers it up – telling my friend he's working on unbanning me, discourse about how everyone is a good person trying eir best

i can just not listen, but ppl round me will listen, and not be able to imagine that a money-centralised media can be even worse than a power-centralised one like russia's. that capitalism can lead to worse outcomes than dictatorship despite the lack of a dictator doing the thing

and yh maybe i should care more about the evils themselves than the propaganda but the thing is, propaganda's only there to stop ppl from seeing the evils, and if they did see then they'd act in a way closer to their natures, plus like i said, i'd better understand their natures
