i spoke to my dad about this and agree w/ him. he is much wiser than i and seems mostly unbiased

atm it's busy laying down propaganda to attack china. it's a stubborn, ruthless machine w/ 80 years of habit, which will fight to the death for its own survival, death being a nuclear war

civil war in the usa is the only thing that would save the rest of the world

this leaves the american people facing a grim fate... on the one hand, they're not culpable for their overlords, but on the other, they are the same as them, and it's a kind of chicken and egg problem how the usa turned into such an evil country foreign-affairs-wise

this is an inherently unstable situation for them, with a pull towards self-destruction + civil war (embodied by the comedy of trump being president/candidate), as well as one towards nuclear war (biden)

meanwhile they huff idpol to stay sedated while thinking theyre good people

it's all rather tragic. humanity in general is tragic. it's not clear if the usa effect would've developed elsewhere in the right context but i think the role of their settler-colonialist history in concentrating these bad traits is clear

it's all present more weakly in europe
