i think for me it’s about not leaving people behind. where i differ from most i think is that i show everyone the same warmth regardless of how well i know em. it’s like making ppl feel at home if they come to your space or group, even if just for a day

most ppl are cold and dead towards those they don’t know, and often hostile. with the sms bingo players, it became a meme how every justification for bullying came down to “negative forces” and “positive experiences”

this was also present in sdll – dehumanising other speedrunners, people w/ different politics, whole demographics of internet cultures and even just friends someone was annoyed with. that was what laid the basis for lumardy to exploit me to get close to someone else after all

for me, this mentality of equal treatment and community building is a kind of resistance against the establishment that seeks to weaken ordinary people by dividing them along racial lines or cults and countercults of ideology. reminding them their experiences are rly the same

as suffering under capitalist alienation. the communities are like refuges that promote human connection. that’s what bingo was, that’s what sdll was, so it’s sad that to them, defining a sense of social identity meant invalidating other people

for me the saddest part of that was definitely lego6245, who spoke to me many times about the same spirit of community but in the end, let himself be swallowed by the cause of rights for people to hate and violently bully others
