smth i’ve always found disturbing is how people usually see death as a bad outcome, in that that person could’ve experienced more life, rather than an (often) good thing that ends suffering, which is the true bad thing [1/7]

cos then ppl care more about death than suffering, and so give up the chance to make a difference while they still can

it’d be better if ppl reacted harder to suffering, cos that would demonstrate real empathy, rather than the kind of religious fear they understand death with

i think this goes some way to explaining why people are so complicit in injustices

it’s rly liberating for me to see the ability of the israeli govt to twist away any narrative that challenges it, cos it reminds me how it’s completely up to fate who gets believed in the end

if you suffer from smth awful and malicious, you’re unlikely to be believed or vindicated, yet u feel things enough to stake emotions over it

if you die then you’re more likely to be believed, but can’t stake emotions over it, and are unaffected by the uncertainty of fate

in that situation, all you can hope to do is to put up a flag over your body and say “this is what i died from; please listen”

and if they don’t listen then it’s fine. cos no matter what killed you, if they didn’t listen to palestinian children then what chance did you have?

saying yr piece, suffering ending, being unaffected by fate; all of these are kinds of freedom

ultimately, life itself is prison; it’s an unlikely but noble goal to make it happy

but to do so, maybe we should embrace death as freedom, and make suffering the emotional outrage

i immensely dislike the fact that death is the commodity thru which evil is vicariously felt, bc then it feels like non-existence is the only way to legitimise suffering [7/7]
