needs a comment

i have a friend of a friend who works for the labour party and has been (voluntarily, on personal acct) retweeting their gaslighting over the leader’s earlier pro–war crimes stance, as well as their advocacy for ongoing war crimes (via no ceasefire calls) [1/11] https://twitter.com/jasebyjason/status/1717971487456387429

i likewise have an ex-friend who has used my views on gender issues to legitimise gaslighting me over views (on unrelated issues) i don’t even have

atm i’m currently waiting for a 3rd person to justify to me how my gender views pose a safety risk, hence i should be ostracised

i listened to @owenjones84 argue that “it’s not hard” to sit from the comfort of our ldn homes and call out genocide. emotionally, i rly want to agree. but it’s not true

if u say the “wrong” opinion then u put yourself at direct risk of personal abuse or ostracisation like above

the situation w/ israeli propaganda atm is imo no different to nazi germany – the only difference is past vs present. i think ppl get this twisted. sure, it’s easy to condemn nazis now, and use it to signal virtue while staying silent on current genocide (https://twitter.com/Shayy_TV/status/1707114961477021741)

that’s cos both then and now, there have been arguments justifying genocide, convincing ones, and it has taken guts to come out and oppose it. saying controversial things is both a great personal risk and the only way to help prevent harm from taking place

so my point is

i don’t judge the first person for reposting propaganda. i will forgive those who supported this genocide

bc it’s thru respecting each other’s stances and *not judging* that we can learn from each other. hopefully, more ppl then come round to doin the right thing

u have to humble yourself by letting go of your certainty that e.g. opposing israel or gender ideology is the right thing to do, and recognise that it’s just your opinion. there’s no place for forcing ppl to think in certain ways or deciding they’re bad people just from opinions

i was rly tested on my stance on this the other day, cos one of my fave voices on the gender debate, @tiredtransmed, a transsexual who argues gender ideology erases transsexual oppression, has come out recently as a vehement israel supporter

still, i’ve not lost respect for her

i said this about fela kuti as well; i will happily, as a bisexual, name myself after a homophobe, recognising his heroic work combatting colonialism

i like them bc they intelligently support causes i believe in, not cos i think they or i are any more right/good than any1 else

indeed, i disagree w/ tiredtransmed saying to exclude non-transsexuals from trans activism, and my goat voice on israel @jonathan_k_cook saying israel bombed al-ahli w/ conspiratorial logic

cos this aint picking footie teams; it’s learning from others and having your own opinion

i bravely say this on a night that may well be remembered as seeing gaza undergo the worst atrocity of my lifetime

i will not judge u on your opinion or advocacy

but i will judge liars, haters, and sjws (those who justify personal abuse w/ opposing opinions they see as harmful)
