two big examples i can think of are the ppl wearing 🇺🇦 flags in their identities, just 🇺🇦, just cos they’re… white
and
every time a random us citizen boycotts an arab country over lgbt rights, despite their own country having inflicted the most ill on the world since the nazis

i pick these two cos public identity and boycotts are politically intentional actions whereas, say, not maintaining balance when picking topics to comment on on a personal twitter is not
they raise the questions – do other wars matter to you, and would you boycott the usa? (lol)

at heart, the best way to resist oppression is to try to understand the big picture, and go for the biggest cause. oppression is about power imbalance
so, for example, it’s a waste of time to rail against terrorists (hamas) when the state in power (israel) is committing genocide

in this regard, lgbt issues are an extremely distant priority… like maybe when apartheid in palestine ends and the usa stops exploiting the middle east… and tbh i’d go further and say lgbt is low-priority in the west too

in the west, misery is fundamentally caused by an economic system whose natural outcomes are escalating inequality, class oppression and alienation
the issue in wokeness isn’t that people fight the smaller stuff that affects them, but rather they encourage every1 to fixate on it

the same is true of anti-wokeness. both are exploited by the ruling class in order to distract people from the big picture, which has turned lgbt into more like a defensive cult where dissent is ousted and meaning is found in fixating on identity + ignoring standard of living etc

this loss of perspective has led to a wokeness that seeks to control how people think of concepts like “woman”, to control how exactly they perceive oppression, and this control is enforced by ostracisation of dissenting opinions

the intolerance here is justified by equating opinions considered harmful to minorities with personal abuse directed at members of those minorities
closely related: erasing the distinction between being racist out of intentional hatred and out of unconscious bias/bad opinions

sjwism is about leveraging political disagreement into gaslighting and personal conflict
it’s about smearing someone as a rapist for criticising your take on “believing victims”

terms like “sjw”, “woke”, “gender ideology” and “cancel culture” are typically seen by liberals as non-existent. as conspiracies or right-wing dogwhistles. but that’s a deliberate cop-out into plausible deniability in order to shut down and misunderstand ppl who disagree

bottom line is, these things exist, they bother people, who then attach to them labels they hear. that’s how words evolve. if i didn’t reclaim these terms from non-existence, the concepts they represent would themselves be erased
(these aren’t slurs; reclaiming slurs is stupid)

anyway, i’ve always written more against woke/sjw than i have against anti-woke, and the reason is cos that socially conservative bs has never affected me, whereas in the past i had friends who were pliable to think like sjws, and now i have sjws actively fucking up my life

in the end, being progressive = tolerating others’ opinions, educating them non-coercively to see bigger pictures, distinguishing hate vs good faith, and keeping politics+friendships separate
else u get only extremists in israel + hamas, and likewise both sides of gender debates
