@EuanYours otoh, i don't see a strong connection between the adult data and minors, cos identity is less settled for them, also cos of the influence of ideology on youth culture (e.g. conflation of gender w/ stereotypes). my views partly come from living around teens in 2020–22

@EuanYours RE the video, i rly think treating gender dysphoria as alt lifestyle rather than mental health problem is a mistake. i see it by analogy – i avoided confronting the pain my autism caused and it ruined me. it's an instability that must be taken seriously else it may cause suicide

@EuanYours in the same way, the video privileges the social model of disability over the medical model, to play up its role in trans suffering... it's not just that, it's both. we can both acknowledge intrinsic pain and do our best to make those lives socially normal

@EuanYours in practice, informed consent makes sense so ppl can freely explore the mental-health side of transition w/o fear of being refused treatment
minors otoh cannot consent imo so their treatment has to be depropagandised, so they can be honest and so doctors can decide freely
