context: goldendevil was the most obvious (to me) proponent of this establishment-like behaviour of reducing nuanced discussions about cost-benefit issues, like the visibility of abusers on leaderboards, into moral imperatives, slandering dissenters as being "against" victims

i don't rly know how i managed to become an "anti-establishment" figure in sms, but the response i got is quite typical of the ways in which journalists get deplatformed – intensive slander and misconstrued motives, and reduction of issues into binary culture wars

a key point this article makes is there's always a motive behind establishment slander. if we take this example, this guy's motive was obvs *not* as stated, to "protect victims". cos in this bingo community vs zoomers conflict, there is no plausible implication of genuine trauma

i tend to fixate on what happened to me within the sms community bc it's the environment in which i lost my life and learned about what it means to oppose the establishment
but this is politically ubiquitous, like
– oppose war = putin apologist
– oppose gender = terf/transphobe
