i didn't know what to expect but she's somehow managed to make a video that validates both my and the TRA position on it haha

the main thing is that everyone is trying to pass as a person in the world, so we should have compassion for how they do it and not gatekeep identities

lifting oneself out of clinging defensively to aspects of ideology that seem to justify one's own existence (how ppl come to see ideology as part of identity)

however, to not gatekeep is to recognise everyone is a victim of personal and cultural understanding of those things

finding truth in gender is that i think, if we can get past our egos, we do need to work more on the cultural understanding of gender, and this is something that affects *everyone*. that's really why i was talking about it. i see it as going wrong, to put it mildly

to summarise my view on that, gender is inherently oppressive and we need a way of understanding each other that deletes stereotypes and vacates gender roles, which gender ideology obviously does not do. the instability of identity shown in this video shows that to me

have a more reality-based understanding of identity, and then let everyone identify as they want to, and you have a more compassionate, consonant world that doesn't feel like nothing is real. and i think that's a good note to end talking about this on for now :p [8/8]
