but eh i think looking at the dynamics of the sms bingo community and (especially) sdll still made it clear that the former factor was having a very detrimental impact on people

with bingo, this idea of fighting for your friends is so extreme that they would justify basically anything with it, and from there came this trend of turning everything into a culture war, vs “abusers”, then vs me, then the il mods

i think the fact that lego6245 went after me twice (apr+sept 2022) with false accusations in order to defend their interests, yet is seen as being this majorly positive influence on the community, says the most about how irrelevant hate and dehumanisation have become to most ppl

with sdll, it was hard to sit thru hours of calls of making fun of ppl on reddit, or the violence heaped on twitter strangers who had the “wrong” opinion on social justice topics. it was a pattern that ppl would bring up outsiders to dunk on them w/o any effort to understand them
