cos it's rly not hard to jump on some1 who's being told off for something. being the 10th person to call some1 a bigot doesn't make u a good person. or cancelling some1 30 ppl want u to cancel

over time, i've defended so many different ppl like this, and i've found usually that my acts are forgotten *as soon as* i say smth against that person. u wouldn't think i advocated for reed and noki doki vs awesomo from the way they've treated me since, or inkstar vs mlarvitar

it bothers me a lot cos it entrenches this culture of doing absolutely nothing about bad behaviour, plus a rational fear of being hated. it shows how little ppl value justice, defending and even being defended

i named myself in tribute to fela kuti, who was, at least passively, misogynistic and homophobic. my own bisexuality aint stoppin me from recognising that he educated me about colonial mentality, and a million nigerians felt strongly enough about all that to attend his funeral
