i find it odd with big tech companies like reddit that the expectation is they’ll think of themselves as owning their platform rather than taking care of it on behalf of humanity. once anything becomes a big enough public good like that

but the world gets back what it put in. capitalism is about owning other people’s work. it’s super ingrained in the mentality of a westerner that ppl should be free to leverage things they own over others. they only notice these extreme cases where all content comes from users

it still doesn’t come back to them that selfishness and inequality are why they’re so miserable. u literally never see the typical poor westerner protest this. instead they turn on each other over who’s allowed to say “nigga”, as if they’re more different than the same

usa, uk, maybe other westerners are maybe who would benefit more from world war than not atm cos of their unequal, unsustainable economies

maybe that’s how the world ends. it’s going that way w them proactively stoking the war in ukraine

idk tho i’m confused about all that
