i realised smth when i read this doc (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dG4lOAbQ9r8oUXTpEzhGijpgomqkdnlaNAxs7HB89EA) a few months ago. it was written just to record history, and has no real political or normative undertones, or any kind of authority. nope, just some guy's neutral account

but that's all that will remain one day

discussions about redacting leaderboards are ultimately pointless cos they contribute nothing to knowledge. decisions made will all be forgotten. cos when you look back, all you seek is facts. and it's easy to discern truth, and to predict what someone will want to know one day

and creating historical records is naturally an organic, decentralised process. no person/group can speak history into existence. these reasons are why i think an inaccurate leaderboard ultimately amounts to nothing and is just a political battleground that misinforms people
