the response ofc was to learn to value oneself. u are important, owed compassion etc. “valid” is the word that gets thrown around a lot. this is good in that it’s key to building self-esteem to escape abuse

to be controlled (i dont mean banned). however (or maybe therefore?) when u listen to semenya, leah thomas etc. talk about it, they don’t engage w the collective issue at all, only talk about their individual perspective – i want to be included, being excluded victimises me, etc.

in right-wing discourse, this is referred to as “narcissism”. it’s not fair to call wanting to have your oppression/victimhood validated that
