i gave up trying to come inside because when i am not alone, i am not myself. and i get thrown out eventually anyway

the half light was meant to liberate us from conformity but at some point i lost the ability to conform and started depending on it, like a permanent stonedness

being unable to function sober. being unable to grow up and conform. i shout from the half light because it's the only place where i feel ok. ok to exist such that others can see me, rather than being alienated in silence forever

the half light isn't just a metaphor, either. i've done these walks a million times, often at dusk. always hoping, one day, i'd get to see what oceans the houses hid. i'm here at dawn typing this. the light is getting too full so i'll disappear again https://twitter.com/shoutplenty/status/1401352666077450251
