we def knew lmao. bad audio is the biggest nerf to growth there is bc it takes the audience out of the room. or in the case of these trash speedrunner mics, injures those w sensitive hearing. what was the 1 thing i complained about every sms bingo season?

speedrunners being used to/complacent about shit audio does not make telling them how to not nerf themselves gatekeeping. flashbacks to 3das defensiveness. or me pointing out why not using emulator to lab ILs is stupid for years until good players finally got results from it

that said, that thread's advice is bad; £60 dynamic usb mics (e.g. samson q2u) are plenty fine starting out. it's fairly critiqued in the comments
plus, plenty of ppl w quiet rooms make cheap usb condensers work as well. snowball is aite but at2020 rly cannot be faulted
