the INSANE level of polarisation in trans discourse in general really tears me up inside and makes me unconfident in being human at all, so much so that after i reached a stable opinion, i just stopped looking at it

people wonder why ppl start being transphobic after they falsely claim that puberty blockers are reversible, and then phrase dissent due to concern over paediatric ethics as threatening the “existence” of trans people, and so u have a defensive ideology

and then those disillusioned by this fall into populist hateful shit like that libsoftiktok acct pretending the doctors are “grooming” kids, and channel their resentment of the ideology as resentment of trans people themselves, and so u have a reactionary ideology

and i am hoping there is a silent majority that takes a centrist approach but is too afraid to say anything. but i just despise that such extreme politics and fear are mainstream among the online
