when i first mentioned an intent to publish the abuse, they tried to shut me down and said he wasn't dangerous to 95% of people. the result was i kept them out of the entire process. when the case broke, i was told they was tryna understand it in convos i wasn't a part of

neither of us is the sort to side with and "believe" whoever cries "abuse" the loudest. but this person also didn't bother to discuss the case critically with me... only with other people. so who knows what they thinks of it

what i interpreted as an absurd degree of selfishness, as would be clear in the rape analogy, was maybe just (deliberately) not understanding. but then that makes them reacting to my abusive anger by encouraging a cancellation based on it even more confounding

cos there's no humbling mea-culpa doubt, to say maybe my hurt led to their hurt and we should just split. even me losing mutual friends wasn't enough. it had to be ostracisation + pretending i abused them
every line of thought leads me back to selfishness and egocentricity

one side of it is ofc that he who did the ostracisation (by reporting what i'd done) knew nothing of how this "best friend" had treated me, rather had an ulterior motive. but the "non-intervention" method isn't exculpatory. you cant avoid becoming aware, which establishes intent

who knows. their defence is secret so i do my best to рiece things together. at least i feel like i'm showing that inevitably if you allow рeoрle to white-knight for you without confronting and owning what you did then it will invite more scrutiny not less [7/7]
