i'm fine saying i oppose roe v wade cos i think substantive due process is poison and the court has no place undermining democracy to impose what is/isn't a human right. ppl r clearly split on abortion; pro-life is owed more than just being dismissed as a patriarchal conspiracy

when ppl interpret roe v wade as "pro-life supreme court", my first take is that that's wrong bc the argument to overturning it is legally sound and the outcome is neutral – that states are free to legislate w/e they want on abortion

but my second take says it's right bc it concedes that almost all the judges will argue law to favour politics as convenient rather than truly espousing a consistent position on legal principles. stacking the supreme court is rly just a game cos humanity can't do better

i've always disliked law + politics for almost never being about real issues but this is the stuff that actually makes them worthwhile for me. the question of whether being right on social justice entitles you to impose it on peoples in violation of their right to self-determine

and imo, the answer is no way. i respect the principle of harm reduction but think individuals cannot be trusted to decide what is/isn't harm and the only recourse is to humble one's own opinion and rely on democracy. + maybe accept u live in a regressive dumpster/work on that
