the melodies here (also on the ballad of el goodo) fit the guitar like a glove so it was one of my faves to play
but i was sad that lists ranking smiths songs tend to put it bottom 1/3
it’s like auntie diaries. an unseemly pov, but invaluably unique, haunting, enlightening
