it's wild to me how unregulated this is, and that it being ppl's own money to decide how to use is said as justification. leveraging popularity to raise money, and trusting where to give money, are as much part of The American Game as evading illness so u dont go bankrupt and die

watching a private medical fundraiser get posted to gaming community discords got me thinkin about the vast sums of money that pass thru these things and the... total lack of accountability? there was no info on expected medical bills and the target / dangling carrot moved twice
