i think the most salient part of the djokovic #AusOpen debacle for me is the danger in hosting prolific tourneys in countries w/ authoritarian regimes. govt right to cancel a visa w/o justification puts it above the law

i think itd be right for @atptour to stop letting australia host a grand slam. but that feels like a massive shame for the efforts they went to to build up the event in a country thats only somewhat prolific for top-level tennis. but making tennis less anglocentric is also good
